Skyward Absence Notification System

This article provides directions on how to report Middle and High School student's absence in Skyward. 

The Skyward Absence Notification System works on both a Desktop Computer and through the Mobile App.  You must be logged in as a parent (not a student).  If you do not know your Skyward Login information, please call 763-745-5109. Please allow a minimum of 2 hours during the school day to process your request. Please call your student’s alpha office with any last-minute requests.

WHERE TO START

Desktop Directions

  • Login your Skyward Account.
  • On the LEFT side of the screen, click on ATTENDANCE.
  • At the UPPER RIGHT of the screen, click on ABSENCE REQUEST.
  • In the pop up box, click on ADD REQUEST.
  • Check to be sure that you have the DATE you want (default is today's date).
  • UNCHECK the ALL DAY box to enter specific START/END times, or leave checked if your student is going to be absent all day.
  • Choose a REASON from the pull down menu.
  • The COMMENT section can be left blank, or you can provide additional information about the absence if you would like.
  • Hit SAVE, and you’re done!


On the Mobile App

  • Login your Skyward Account.
  • Click on the 3 Horizontal Bars in the Upper Right Corner of your screen.
  • Click on the ATTENDANCE tab.
  • Click on ADD ABSENCE REQUEST button.
  • Check to be sure that you have the DATE you want (default is today's date).
  • Click on ALL DAY to turn OFF and enter specific START/END times, or leave highlighted if your student is going to be absent all day.
  • Choose a REASON from the pull down menu.
  • The COMMENT section can be left blank, or you can provide additional information about the absence if you would like.
  • Hit SUBMIT REQUEST, and you’re done!
