F.A.Q.

This article will help answer some questions you might have on what systems are affected by changing our email address and domain from wayzata.k12.mn.us to wayzataschools.org

WHERE TO START:

Q - Will I still be able to receive emails from my @wayzata.k12.mn.us email address?

A - Yes, you will continue to get emails from your @wayztata.k12.mn.us account, because they will be transparently forwarded to your new @wayzataschools.org email address.


Q - What will happen to email on my personal iPhone?

A - If you use the iOS mail app, you will need to remove the @wayzata.k12.mn.us email account and add the @wayzataschools.org account.  If you use the Gmail app, the email address will switch over automatically, however, you will need to re-enter your district password for the account to start syncing.


Q - What will happen to email on my personal Android phone?

A - Your email address will switch over automatically, however, you will need to re-enter your district password for the account to start syncing.


Q - If I have an @isd284.com address, will I continue to get those emails as well?

A - Yes, you will continue to get emails from your @isd284.com email address, because they will be transparently forwarded to your new @wayzataschools.org email address.


Q - What will happen to my email account on my iPad?

A - If you use the iOS mail app (the default iPad app) a new profile will be pushed out to your iPad which will set up your new email address. You will get a pop up that will require you to enter your email password and your mail should start syncing again.

If you use the Gmail app, the change should be transparent. You may need to re-enter your password.


Q - Are student email accounts changing as well?

A - No, student email accounts will remain the same.


Q - What will happen with my documents in Google Drive?

A - Your Google Drive documents will sync with your new @wayzataschools.org account automatically once you login to Google with that account.


Q - Will this change affect my access to the district intranet?

A - No, this change will have no affect on your ability to log into the district intranet.


Q - What will happen with my current @wayzata.12.mn.us or @isd284.com Apple ID?

A - Your current Apple ID will continue to function as it has previously, however, it is strongly recommended you update your Apple ID to reflect your new @wayzataschools.org email address to avoid confusion in the future.  To update your Apple ID, please see the Update Your Apple ID Help Center article for instructions on how to update it.


Q - Will my bookmarks transfer over when I change my email address to @wayzataschools.org?

A - Yes. Your Chrome bookmarks will seamlessly sync with your new email address.


Q - What will happen with my "See Saw" account?

A - If you are logged in with your Google account, log out of Seesaw and log back in using the "Login With Google" button. If you log in to Seesaw by entering a username and password, you will need to login and click on your account settings in the top left corner of the window. Click on your email address and change it to your @wayzataschools.org address.  You will have to re-enter your Seesaw password.


Q - What will happen with my My Learning Plan account?

A - The Tech Office office has changed your login to the new domain @wayzataschools.org


Q - Why don't I see any of my schools sites in Google Sites?

A - Google does not have a way to change any of the Google Sites from wayzata.k12.mn.us to wayzataschools.org. In order to see any previous site, go to the website https://sites.google.com/a/wayzata.k12.mn.us while logged in to your Google account.
